Have you ever tried naming a pet or a child, a business or a property? You probably pored over lots of names until you narrowed your list down & then you wrote the names you were considering over & over to see how they sounded. Sound familiar? Our business name is a little different, but we still spent lots of time weighing if it was the right one for our business.
In 2011 we bought our first home & it was absolutely exciting!! We found a place in the country, but still close to town. This was very different from the house that we were in! The house we had been in was in the middle of a very noisy area of town; trains, helicopters, loud cars & loud neighbors. Moving to our new house was so quiet & peaceful.
We now had goats, 2 acres of wooded pasture land to explore & a quiet street for our kids to ride on. I love walking our property! It was one day my husband & I were walking the property that I mentioned it was such a peaceful pasture. It reminded me of Psalms 23..."The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.." This has always been one of my favorite Bible passages!
We ended up naming our property Peaceful Pastures. We wanted all who come to our property to know that they are welcomed, they will find rest & they are loved. When we started doing photography it came naturally to name our business as an extension of our property. Peaceful Pastures Photography's goal is to help people to relax & enjoy their photoshoots from start to finish. My greatest joy is when I am on a photoshoot & my clients start to truly relax & have fun. These are the moments that create amazing memories! Our logo is a story for another time, so stay tuned for that one.
